I "burnt" a PC today. I opened up the CPU and attempted to connect a slave drive. As it was loading Windows, suddenly there was a burning smell and then smoke came out from the board. It was so scary.
Every morning, at the Tuas checkpoint during security inspection, i would be the one who get out from the car to entertain the customs officers and to close the car boot after the inspection. I know for most cars, the drivers would be the one who gets down while other passengers remain in the cars. 贝 and i think that it would be more efficient for the passenger to handle this task so that the cars can move faster since the driver doesn't need to unfasten/fasten the seat belt.
This has been fine all the while. We can clear the inspection rather smoothly. But then a few weeks back, a customs officer advised us that the driver MUST be the one who gets out from the car and open up the car boot. We didn't pay much attention to it, as we thought this customs officer was just being
Then this morning, a different customer officer told us the same thing. Now i begin to wonder if it's really a written rule that it must be the driver who tends to the inspection procedure. If so, what's the rationale of such rule? What's the problem with the passenger doing it instead?
The only possible reason i could think of is that they wanna ensure that no one is at the driver's seat, getting ready to break away when they uncover some illegal stuffs. This reason may be justified and there may be other reasons too, but whatever it is, we won't be doing it until we are sure that it's indeed a written regulation. I'll see if i can find any information from the Web.
