Too much of a coincidence?

Received a forwarded email from a colleague this morning. I think it kinda made my point about the financial burden of a single-income family with children.

Heard a news on radio this morning and googled about it. Here's the link: news from Chinapost

If this guy was really innocent, then he sure was one unlucky guy. I think the media may have gone overboard in exposing his identity, but the police wasn't wrong in listing him as one of the suspects. I mean, weren't the events too freaking coincidental?

Imagine a guy who had financial problem. His previous wife (from Vietnam) died of accident (snake bite) and he received a huge sum as compensation from her life insurance. Then a few years later, his new wife (from Vietnam again) died of accident too (derailment) and she was again insured with a huge amount. And to add on to the suspicion, the new wife had survived two train accidents before. He was with his wife for all the three occasions when the accidents happened. The last instance when the wife was killed in the train wreck, he just so happened to get off the train to pick up something and took another coach instead. For all the three train journeys, he had bought insurance policies for both of them, but the strange thing was that the beneficiary of the wife's policy was himself, whereas the beneficiaries of his policy were his children (why not the wife?).

If i were a police investigating the accident, i would find all these way too fishy as well.

But of course, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. I shouldn't have speculated on the case, especially when the suspect had committed suicide, claiming his innocence. Perhaps he was indeed a victim too. If that was really the case, then someone up there must have played a very sick joke on him. And it wasn't even funny.
