Last year, i did a series of posts on Christmas carols as a count down to the Christmas day. This year, i was so occupied with work that i didn't manage to write anything on my favourite holidays.
Went to work at the store on Saturday again. We saw less patrons this weekend even though it was only the second week after our opening. I guess most people were out of the country on holiday.
Actually i could have stayed at home, as my help wasn't needed at all for this weekend. I spent the morning walking around the store without really having to do anything. Then i decided to make myself useful by standing at the entrance welcoming the customers and giving directions.
I left work early at around 2pm and went to our neighbour's to have a look at their store. It was so much more impressive than ours when it comes to the size and the design of the building. I bought a wicker basket there as an additional Christmas gift for 贝, one that's the same as what he has and was thinking of getting another one for keeping his pu-er tea.
Oh, and by the way, i've already bought a 2L water bottle for 贝 as his Christmas gift, so that he could bring just one big bottle of water to his weekly badminton game instead of three small bottles.

Yesterday, i had a great Christmas eve.
In the late afternoon before 贝 and i went out on our date, we exchanged Christmas gifts. I wanted to do the gift exchanging earlier because we had planned to catch a movie after dinner and i expected to reach home late that night. I've hidden his gift in my mom's room and i reckoned she would be sleeping already when we got home, so i thought i'd better get it out of her room before we left home.
And my Christmas gift this year from 贝 was the branded Bodum french press, with 25 years of warranty!
It was an excellent gift because my current company doesn't provide a coffee making machine and i've been drinking lousy coffee everyday.
To make sure that i can have my daily dose of good coffee, 贝 even completed the gift with Spinelli House Blend coffee powder, which smells absolutely heavenly.
I think i need to practise a few times before i could brew a good cup of coffee using this french press.
We had our Christmas eve dinner at the Itallianies restaurant in Tebrau City. This is our favourite Italian restaurant in JB, as we couldn't find any other here that serve really good pasta. We've been there three times and never been disappointed. Both the food and the service there are good.
We ordered two set meals that came with appetizers and its delicious tiramisu. During the meal, there were a group of children singing Christmas carols in the restaurant. I thought their singing was just so-so, but it sure created a festive mood for all the customers in the restaurant.
After dinner, we watched the movie Curse of the Golden Flowers (满城尽带黄金甲). The story and cinematography were good, and the acting of Chow Yun Fat and Gong Li were simply superb. As for Jay Chow, well, let's just say that i'm glad there weren't too much close-up on his facial expression.

Today, 贝 and i went golf practising at the driving range, and then visited a Chinese physician again. My left hand has never been completely healed since i sprained it half-a-year ago. As for 贝, he was also having this peculiar bump on his right wrist that needed to be treated. So we've been seeing this Chinese physician on-and-off.
It's back to work tomorrow. Frankly, i didn't get to have the rest that i've hoped to get during this long weekend. Anyway, just another four more days of work and there will be four days of rest again. I hope this week can go by faster.
