Cogito ergo scribo

Today is 贝's nephew's birthday. We call him Jie and he turns 3 years old today. I've thought of posting a photo of Jie, taken when he was still an infant; but then i would have to ask for permission from 贝's brother (who is in Thailand), sister-in-law, mother, father (who are in Penang), and maybe even 贝's younger sister (who is in KL). So might as well forget about it.

I didn't buy any gift for Jie so i've written, or at least took an attempt to write, a little poem for him. Here goes:

With all the love upon thee
Today you turn three
As you slowly understand better
You will see everything clearer
The world may not be all rosy
With unimaginable cruelty
But kid you must always remember
Home will always be your shelter
So when people treat you coldly
When you feel sad and lonely
Remember no place can be dearer
Than your family who loves you forever

Ok, i know, it's rather cheesy, but hey, what do you expect from a person who couldn't even write a good normal piece of post, let alone writing poem?

Anyway, hope that when Jie is older, this blog is still around for him to read this shoddy piece of work. So until then, Jie, happy birthday and may your days always be filled with love and happiness.
