Got the final performance review form back from little boss last week, with his comments added as below:
XXXX Pin is very customer-focused and able to relate well with users. Her business sense, communication and relationship building skills have assisted in resolving many issues that were raised during the system implementation especially for Taiwan and Singapore. She worked well with the other team members, standardize the project documentations and does what is necessary to get the job done.
She is quite a perfectionist and attentive to details and sometimes when faced with a multitude of deadlines, may deviate from a given timeline. At times she is a bit emotional when faced with difficult customers or vendors.
With her responsibility now more focused into Navision projects, she can certainly build up other areas such as project management, team leading, resource management, and working with vendors.
I think his comments are fair enough, as i indeed started to fall behind in tasks delivery due to too much work being given to me and i couldn't settle for anything less than perfect. As for being quick temper, that is definitely nothing new. I told little boss that he should have seen me in the older days, as i have really toned down a lot on my temper in recent years.
On the overall performance rating, he gave me a 4 out of 5.
I am quite happy with the review result, except that i have yet to hear anything about the increment that was overdue to me. I accepted the promotion last year without any increment, with the promise from big boss that the adjustment will come next year. It is already "next year" now, and i've yet to hear anything from him.
I did, however, receive an additional month of pay before CNY through the payroll. Initially i thought it was a mistake by the HR, since i asked little boss and another colleague, and none of them had another month's pay into their bank accounts. After enquiry to HR, i was told that it was a CNY angpao given to me by the company. If this is a gesture of appreciation from the big boss, i am really grateful, but that doesn't mean that he can just forget about giving me the promised pay rise.
I heard that the company is implementing some cost-cutting measures due to the economy downturn. I hope that won't mean that what he promised will no longer stand. If that is indeed the case, there's nothing i can do about it too, except marking down this incident and use it as a very good reason to seek for greener pasture when the economy gets better.
