I felt like slapping myself for being such a procrastinator. I have so many things on my to-do list that i really wonder when will i complete them all, if ever. Perhaps the only incentive for me to finish up all the things as soon as possible is to stop 贝's constant nagging. I guess guys can be pretty nagging too sometimes, especially when it comes to their pet peeves. *sigh*
Just finished watching the Korean drama series "Staircase to Heaven". Needless to say, my eyes were all swollen from all the crying after watching it. I think this drama should be considered a "classic" because it has all the elements that a typical Korean drama series would have:
- There's always a female villain who tries to come in between the two protagonists. She will plot and scheme to frame the female protagonist so that she can be with the male protagonist. One thing though, i always find the actress who plays the role of the female villain to be prettier than the female protagonist.
- There's always a male character who loves the female protagonist very much, and will devise some wiles to come in between the two protagonists. However, in the end, this guy will somehow help the two to be together because he will realize his love for the female protagonist is so deep that all he wants is just for her to be happy (aaawwww....).
- One of the protagonists will meet with an accident that will cause him/her to lose his/her memory or eyesight.
- One of the protagonists (most of the time it's the female) would contract an incurable disease and then she will not want to let him know and choose to leave him. The male protagonist will find out in the end but she probably still dies (if the plot is a tragedy).
- The two protagonists and the female villain always work in the same company or on the same project.
- There are always a lot of flashback scenes of the time that the two protagonists spent together, especially more so when the two are separated and heart-broken.
- There's always one or two silly characters who are the good friends of the protagonists and serve to create funny scenes
- There's always an engagement (or an attempt to be engaged) between the protagonist and the third person in 1 or 2.
- The male protagonist, no matter how macho or manly he may be, will have no problem in crying in front of the woman he loves -- all the time.
- The drama will always show the beautiful scenery of Korea and then if the drama becomes a hit later, they will sell it as a tour package.
