My car was hit, again

Accidents often happen during traffic jam, especially when all the cars are following the other cars in close distance to prevent those queue-jumping jackass taking the chance to cut in the queue. So this was probably why my car was hit again this morning by another jackass, who even though wasn't a queue jumper, was still a f*cking asshole nonetheless.

It was the third day already that the traffic at Tuas checkpoint was congested. This morning, we left home 20 minutes earlier than usual in the hope to beat the traffic, but there was still a long line when we were approaching the Tuas checkpoint.

Just like any other days when there's a traffic jam, there were lots of those f*cking queue-jumpers trying to cut in from the left lane. While we were inching forward in close proximity to the car in front, the car behind us was doing the same as well. Then it happened. When 贝 stepped on the brake, we felt a jerk from behind. We knew that the car behind us must have not been able to stop in time and knock into us.

As our car was in the narrow right lane, with the left lane overflowed with motorbikes, we decided not to stall the traffic by getting down from the car and check on the damage. We thought that we would check it out only when we reached the customs complex, so that it would be easier for the other cars to move to other lanes in case the damage was bad and we need to talk to the driver.

This turned out to be a lesson for us. In a traffic jam, always check out the damage immediately at the scene when your car is hit. Do not be considerate of the other cars at the back of the line because you never know if you would run into an asshole like the one we encountered this morning.

When we almost reached the complex, i told 贝 that we should check out the damage before reaching the opening path in case the car behind moved away to other lane. So 贝 stopped the car and both of us went down to have a look. The car bumper was slightly scratched and there wasn't any indentation. Since it wasn't something serious, we decided to forget about it. No point in pursuing something so minor and holding up everyone behind us, who were all rushing to work.

Before we returned to our car, 贝 pointed to that driver behind, signaling that he had knocked us and should be careful next time. Who knew this asshole honked at us. So 贝 went to him to see what he wanted while i got back into the car. Then i saw 贝 talking furiously to that asshole, and i heard indistinctly 贝 telling that asshole to admit his mistake. 贝 told that asshole that we weren't expecting him to pay for the damage but he should at least have the decency to admit his wrongdoing. Apparently, that asshole must have denied knocking us from behind.

I got down from the car again, wanting to tell that asshole off. Then i saw 贝 about to walk back to our car, uttering a loud "F*CK" as he was walking away from that f*cker's car. This made that asshole angry and shouted to 贝, "mind your language!"

Then 贝 got even angrier and turned back, continue arguing with that asshole. There was a lady passenger in the car and she also joined in the shouting, saying that she was gonna take action against 贝 because of his words. 贝 then told them to go ahead and said that he could deny what he had said, just like they denied what they had done to our car.

Just as the commotion was going on and all the motorcyclists were enjoying this free show, a customs officer came to us and asked us to move on. He said that for traffic accidents, we gotta settle it among ourselves and not to obstruct the flow of traffic. At the same time, the other drivers at the back were beginning to get impatient and started honking and shouting at us to move on. So i urged 贝 to return to the car and forget about it. As 贝 stormed back to our car in a huff, he yelled "lan jiao" at that asshole again. I'm not so sure if that two f*ckers in the car understand this vulgar word since they were Indians, but they apparently looked pissed.

And so, we left with a scratched bumper and a day spoilt by these f*cking assholes. I seriously don't understand why there were such people in this world. If you knock someone's car and that person didn't pursue it, you should be grateful instead of claiming that you are innocent when in fact you aren't. I seriously don't know what was f*cking wrong with these two assholes. It was either they had discussed and decided to pretend that they weren't wrong (since they had time to calm themselves when we didn't check the damage at the scene), or their sense of reality was totally distorted and they seriously need to have their screwed-up brains examined.

There was actually a similar incident at the checkpoint yesterday, and it was the opposite of what happened to us, i.e. a Malaysian car knocked the bumper of a Singaporean car. There wasn't even a scratch or visible damage (well, at least not visible to us), but the Singaporeans actually went down to talk to the Malaysian driver immediately and took pictures of the Malaysian car, apparently reserving the rights to claim damages. So comparatively, we were being kind in not pursuing the matter, but then that two assholes still wanna find fault with us when they were the ones who were wrong in the first place. They should count themselves lucky that it was us that they knocked and not the Singaporean car we saw the day before.

Perhaps we should really start behaving like Singaporeans, to always make a mountain out of a molehill. It doesn't pay to be kind and considerate sometimes, especially dealing with ingrates such as those two assholes.

As a side note, i wonder if swearing at people constitutes an offence by law. Although i understand 贝's rage, as i was equally infuriated, i don't think it was prudent to use profanities, especially in Singapore when every little thing can be made into a huge matter. I bet that two assholes must have copied down our car plate number and wanna do something to us, which i don't know what and hope there wouldn't be any repercussion.

But then, who could think so much when in fit of anger. It just felt so good to swear at those jackass. Yeah, ta-ma-de!

Labels:

the reason i yelled "lanjiao" at him was bcoz he yelled "cibai" at me 1st when i was returning to our car... wtf...

Oh, i didn't know that because i was too far away from that asshole's car to hear what he said. So this means he should understand what the word meant.

mwt:

Apparently you didn't get the point. It wasn't about the car but what he did after that.

It wasn't about the knock on the bumper, as i had already written that we didn't even think it was necessary to talk to the driver at first when we saw it was just a minor scratch. It was about the way that asshole denied his wrongdoing and made it as if we were the ones who were wrong instead.

So perhaps you think his denial in knocking us was also a small matter. Maybe it was, and maybe you would have not done anything if you were in our situation. Of course, if you think condoning wrong behaviours such as denying wrongdoing and shifting blame are small matters, it's your way of living, but i think otherwise.

:)
Accident is like this, unfortunately... sigh!

I also had a similar encounter but the other party admitted.

What happened was... all cars stopped in front of red traffic light. These 2 Indian fellas saw the light turned green, and immediately accellerated, and hit into my car (in forn of theirs). The thing was, the car in front of us hasn't moved, how could we move?

Then DH was angry, and wanted a compensation (quite badly damaged). But these 2 fella later claimed that my hubby was rude lah, and instead of compensating us, demanded us to apologize lah, etc.

We reported to police, they didn't. They thought we would be backed off. Then, they received saman because they didn't make police report! Took us 2 months before we could get it claimed for insurance just because of their attitude. :)
