贝 has been feeling unwell since yesterday. He went to see a doctor just now and was given a MC for tomorrow.
There's a major project going on in our company now and everyone is squeezed to the max in getting the project done while running the daily operations at the same time. I guess i'm lucky to join the company at this stage because i'm too new to be involved in the project, yet i'll get to reap the harvest of my fellow colleagues' hard work.
This major project is the construction of our own mall at the east side of Singapore, with our offices occupying one floor. Everyone will be moving to the new offices very soon. The first phase of moving will start mid of next month, while the last phase is in mid January next year. IT department will be the last department to move out of the current work place because we gotta make sure everything is properly set up for the operations and other departments.
The first time being in the retail line is exciting. There are just so much things to learn. Everything is moving so fast. Our operational group gotta respond to issues in the quickest time possible because customers are just so demanding. The new POS systems will not be implemented until the later phase, so i'm still in my comfort zone of providing support and input to the back-end departments only. I must get into the swing of things before the second phase starts. With the many branches we have island-wide, i can't imagine the challenges that come with the mere number of POS systems that need to be implemented and people that we need to train and support in the future. Yet, i'm beginning to enjoy the injection of the renewed vitality that was once eroded by my previous job.
I'll be attending a training course tomorrow at our Navision consultant's office, which is my ex-employer. So i'll be returning to a work place where i had once wanted to leave so much, but as a customer this time. It's probably gonna be a strange feeling to meet the old colleagues in such manner.
