There were five of us in the lesson, Carol and hubby KT, Min, 贝 and myself. Our coach is an angmo by the name of Daniel. Quite a charming guy, and i guess that could serve as a motivation for me to wake up early on every Saturday morning to attend the lesson at 9am.
I had heard people said that once you've had your first swing, you would immediately fall in love with this game. I'm not sure about the part about falling in love, but i sure find this game interesting and challenging. The posture, the grip, the swing... every movement must be well coordinated to make the perfect stroke. For a person like me who don't play any sports and don't have much muscular strength, the only way for me to pick up this game is to practise, practise, and practise. Yes, 贝 and i plan to have at least two rounds of practising in between every lesson, and perhaps for me, i would need even more. This means i gotta bite the bullet and bear with the muscles pain.
As part of my determination to fulfill this new year's resolution of mine, i've also been reading about golfing over the last few weeks.
The books are actually quite interesting, especially the part on golfing rules. I had a good laugh when i read the original version of the rules that were established in the 18th century, especially this one:
If your Balls be found anywhere touching one another, you are to lift the first Ball till you play the last.
One must have a good imagination (or dirty mind) to see why i found this line so funny. Just merely reading this rule, i was already sure that i'm gonna love this game.
